Dr Daniel Komo is a lawyer with extensive experience in commercial and corporate law, banking law and capital markets law. He is a certified specialist lawyer in the aforementioned areas and provides both out-of-court legal advice and representation in court proceedings.
He began studying law at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main in the summer semester of 1998 and passed the First State Examination in Law in June 2003 with distinction.
He subsequently completed his legal traineeship (Rechtsreferendariat) at Hanau Regional Court and passed the Second State Examination in Law in December 2005, again with distinction.
From April 2006, he undertook an LL.M. postgraduate programme at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. In May 2007, he began his professional career as an employed lawyer with CMS Hasche Sigle in Frankfurt am Main. In December 2007, he was awarded his doctorate by Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main for his thesis entitled “Cross-Border Mergers of British and German Companies”.
In July 2009, the Frankfurt am Main Bar Association granted him the right to use the title of Certified Specialist Lawyer for Commercial and Corporate Law. In March 2011, he passed the specialist notarial examination with distinction, and in September 2011 he was appointed as a civil-law notary with his official seat in Frankfurt am Main by the President of the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main.
In October 2012, the Frankfurt am Main Bar Association granted him the right to use the title of Certified Specialist Lawyer for Banking and Capital Markets Law. From April 2013, he established and developed the notarial practice at the Frankfurt office of GvW Graf von Westphalen before setting up his own practice in August 2021.
Today, Dr Daniel Komo practises independently as a lawyer and civil-law notary based in Frankfurt am Main.
In addition, he has been a lecturer in business law at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences since the summer semester of 2009 and has published several works on legal issues relating to corporate and capital markets law as well as legal education and training.
He has also successfully trained a number of notarial assistants, some of whom continue to work with him today.
